| Scientists at the National Cancer Institute
(NCI) and the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) Biostatistics
Center have developed this Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool, a web-based
program that
allows a health professional to project a womans individualized estimate of risk for
invasive breast cancer over a 5-year period and over her lifetime (to age 90). This program uses statistical methods applied to data from the Breast Cancer Detection and Demonstration Project. a mammography screening project conducted in the 1970s. Although a physician's tool, it provides good information to help you work with your physician in managing your risk of breast cancer. Click here to go to the NCI Risk Assessment page. A stand-alone Risk Assessment application can be downloaded here. | Home | Profile | Board | Grants | Special Events | |
